The season (series?) finale of NBC's Go On hit some right notes but also misfired leading to a mixed bag that shouldn't be the last episode of the series.
The Ryan and Anne relationship has been one of the successes of the first season, so it was nice seeing her being an integral part of his ability to move on and spread Janie's ashes, but I could've done without Mr. K tagging along. That said, I did get a kick out of Steven's singing. I haven't been a fan of the Sonia/Yolanda duo, especially when they're duping Lauren, so I didn't care for the B-plot especially since that time could've been used to at least address the Ryan/Carrie stuff. If Go On's cancelled before we get some closure on that would be relationship would be annoying.
Ultimately, Season 1 of Go On was wobbly at times, but once it figured itself out and resisted to get in its own way, it became one of the better comedies of the year. I'm fairly confident that we'll be getting another run, but nothing's guaranteed... especially when it comes to NBC.
