Time got away from me today, so I don't know how this write-up is going to end up but I wanted to jot something down before the final three are revealed.
4. Trevin Hunte (Team Cee Lo): "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Gary Morris
It's a shame that Trevin will probably be hurt by a poor song choice and a less than stellar performance at the tail end of the competition He's been the front-runner since the jump but he may have lost all of his momentum and effectively lost The Voice last night. I blame the new iTunes Rule, but oh well.
3. Cassadee Pope (Team Adam): "Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban
I like it when Cassadee sings country, and I appreciated Blake explaining their strategy but I didn't really care for the song itself. I still think Cassadee's poised to possibly win it all but this was not her most entertaining outing.
2. Nicholas David (Team Cee Lo): "You Are So Beautiful" by Joe Cocker
I'm such a Nicholas David fan that I'll dig anything he puts out, and "You Are So Beautiful" was a good choice because it highlighted his strengths but it also felt very safe. Now, I don't blame Nicholas and Cee Lo for not taking huge chances this late in the game, but I would've liked him to do something new throughout this entire competition.
1. Terry McDermott (Team Blake): "Let It Be" by the Beatles
Everyone knows that I've been a fan of Terry's since day one but I've been discounting him over the last couple of weeks. Boy have I learned my lesson because iTunes rules all, and Terry's benefited from the new rule over the last couple of rounds. Don't get me wrong, "Let It Be" was great and he's worthy of sticking around, but I would've never put him in the finals over Trevin. Unfortunately, it looks like that's what is going to happen.
My Top Four
4. Terry McDermott (Team Adam) - LW: No. 5
3. Trevin Hunte (Team Cee Lo) - LW: No. 1
2. Cassadee Pope (Team Adam) - LW: No. 2
1. Nicholas David (Team Cee Lo) - LW: No. 3
Look, I'm totally prepared to be wrong here because apparently iTunes sales are all that matter, but I cannot in good conscience put Terry in the finals over Trevin because the latter's been stronger week in and week out. It just sucks that a weak finish will more than likely overrule what was one of the better runs by a competitor on The Voice. Stupid iTunes.
