Now that Neal's no longer on the run, White Collar returned to normal for the most part, and while I would've liked to watch our hero globetrot as he evaded the FBI, I have to admit I liked "Diminishing Returns."
Admittedly, I'm not too invested in Peter's new assignment, but we all know that it's only temporary until he somehow saves the day and gets his old job back. While I get that evidence is supposed to be monotonous, it just doesn't have enough of an identity to make me care about what's done there. Again, Peter's situation's only going to be around for a short time, but I would've liked his new gig to be at least somewhat interesting.
Aside from Peter being stuck in evidence, it was fun to watch him get out for a bit and go undercover as he and Neal tried to take down David Cook. He's been one of the few characters who has evolved, and I love that he's no longer the stuffy "suit," but someone who's a source of humor.
I still think that White Collar should have done more with Neal's flight from the law, but "Diminishing Returns" was a solid return to form, so I can't complain too much.
