Tonight was the season finale of 30 Rock, and to be honest I don't have much to write about it except that "Respawn" didn't quite work for me. I enjoyed Liz's mission to have a relaxing break and how her work life kept getting in her way. For the first time in a long time I didn't care for Jack's story because the idea of him replacing Avery with Kenneth just wasn't a funny concept, although I actually thought Kenneth had some good material this time around. Since I can only take Jenna in small doses, I disliked pretty much all of her plot, and even Victor Garber couldn't make me care.
This was the first season I watched 30 Rock somewhat regularly, and I was mostly happy with what the show gave us. The mid-point of Season 5 was by far some of the funniest TV I've seen in a long time, and I'll remember those episodes fondly, but it was obvious that the show ran out of momentum when Tracy Morgan took his leave and it wasn't able to rebound. I'd still say this season was a success, but having the show end after next year wouldn't be a horrible idea.
