I just finished watching the first season of Dexter, and I was entertained by it. I knew what the premise of the show was, but I was surprised how textured and complex Dexter's character was.
I also liked how well the season flowed, which is further proof that all hour-long dramas should have 12 episode seasons. We were able to really buy into the main Ice Truck Killer story arc without being sidetracked with a lot of stand alone episodes that didn't add to the plot, but the other characters didn't suffer as all of them had their own story lines throughout the season.
Season 2 is already in my Netflix Instant Watch queue, and I'm excited to see where the story goes once I've wrapped up watching True Blood: Season 1.
