So, I want to preface this post by saying that I'm a big fan of How I Met Your Mother (it's ranked #3 on my list), but it tries to be too witty. For example, this week's episode introduced the concept of a "woo girl" which pretty much is your stereotypical party girl. The "woo girl" concept did add to the plot of the episode, but it's just another one the show's attempt at being smart (i.e. The Cheerleader Effect, The Platinum Rule, "GCWOK", The Chain of Screaming, and so forth and so on). What makes HIMYM great is the relationships between the characters and not their veiled attempt at pop culture immortality. Let the jokes be natural instead of forcing these new "hip" terms.
With that being said, I really liked "Woooo!" mostly because it did focus a lot of the relationships. The guys were really on top of their games tonight, and they had the most interesting storyline because you could relate to all three of them. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Robin & Lilly. I respect the challenges their friendship is facing, but their interactions just didn't flow, especially when they talked in rhymes (totally unneeded and not really funny).
Overall, "Woooo!" was one of the better episodes of Season 4, and I hope the show is back on track because so far this season's been a step behind previous seasons.
